Bending and Breaking is a Christian ministry that seeks to support lay leaders in under-resourced churches or churches without a minister. We do this in various ways, including personalised mentoring and training sessions, providing theological input via our podcast and videos, and creating resources that lay leaders can take back to their churches or use to benefit their own personal spiritual growth.
Anyone can be mentored, but this mentoring is specifically targeted at lay leaders. Some of the unique challenges lay leaders may face are that they have a desire to serve, but may not be guided or supported in their church context. They may also serve in a capacity that might not match with the training they’ve received.
A particular benefit of mentoring in this application is that you’re guided through a process of reflecting on yourself and your situation with the purpose of finding practical ways to better serve God in the ministry that you’re in. It may also help you to understand yourself better and help you navigate all relationships in your life better.
